About the Summit
A Landmark Gathering for Africa’s Social Protection Agenda
The 1st African Social Security Summit marks a defining moment in the history of social protection on the continent. Convened by the Africa Social Security Association (ASSA) in partnership with the African Union (AU), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), African Development Bank (AfDB), AUDA-NEPAD, Trade and Development Bank (TDB), Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), , Central Bank of Ethiopia, PSSSA Ethiopia and CRDB Bank Tanzania.
This inaugural summit brings together senior leaders from across Africa’s social security institutions.
Against the backdrop of rapid demographic change, digital transformation, and growing informality in African labour markets, this summit provides a critical platform to share knowledge, forge partnerships, and chart a collective path forward.
